55 Colemore Row is a commercial and office space in the heart of Birmingham’s financial centre. The building itself has a Grade II listed Victorian façade and historically operated as a piano manufacturers and a bank. FRA were asked to produce a visual language and wayfinding system for the building, with environmental graphics such as floor numbering and manifestation on glass. The architecture and history of the building influenced much of our design process, taking cues from musical staves and ‘guilloche’ patterns as used on banknotes.
